Is it appropriate to give my boss a gift?
While you are under no obligation to get a gift for bosses, a gift can be a way to show appreciation for the work your boss does day in and day out. There are a few days a year such as boss’s day, a birthday, and Christmas when a gift can be appropriate and give a spark of joy. Before choosing a gift for your boss, it is a good idea to check your work policies as there may be guidelines on which gifts are, or are not, appropriate. some stricter workplaces may prohibit gift-giving altogether. While giving your boss a gift before an anticipated promotion is unwise, most workplaces will allow employees to give bosses a gift for birthdays and other major holidays a few times a year.
